What it involves

Looking after your heart should be easy, too

For an older person or someone with heart disease, travelling to an appointment can be more tiring than the check-up itself. The doctor comes with a blood pressure monitor, a pulse oximeter and cardiac monitoring equipment, reviews your treatment and suggests regular follow-up with the same professional.

What's included

  • Blood pressure, heart rate and rhythm measurement
  • Assessment of symptoms such as palpitations, tiredness or swollen legs
  • Review and adjustment of cardiovascular medication
  • Management of risk factors: cholesterol, diabetes, weight and smoking
  • Referral for an ECG, echocardiogram or other tests if needed

When to request it

  • High blood pressure that is hard to control
  • Palpitations or an irregular heartbeat without other serious symptoms
  • Follow-up after a heart attack, a procedure or a hospital stay
  • Regular check-ups if you have a history of heart problems

Who it's for

  • Patients with high blood pressure or known arrhythmias
  • Older people with several risk factors
  • Patients recently discharged after a heart problem
  • Anyone who needs ongoing follow-up with the same doctor

Have private health insurance? We work with insurers and intermediaries: ask during the call whether your policy covers the visit.

Step by step

What the visit is like

No waiting rooms, no travelling: it all starts with a phone call.

  1. Request a visit

Call us or fill in the form with your name, phone number and postcode. You can request it for yourself or for a family member.

  2. Phone assessment

A healthcare professional calls you, asks about the symptoms and confirms that a home visit is the right option. If it isn't, we will tell you.

  3. Cardiovascular check-up at home

The doctor takes measurements, examines you and reviews your treatment, and together you agree how often you should be checked again.

Frequently asked questions

What people usually ask us

  • Can you treat an urgent heart problem at home?

Only if it is not life-threatening. Chest pain, especially if it feels like pressure or comes with sweating or shortness of breath, is a reason to call 112. We can come for mild palpitations, blood pressure checks or check-ups after an episode that has already stabilised.

  • What equipment do you bring to the visit?

A digital blood pressure monitor, a pulse oximeter and cardiac monitoring devices, as well as the usual examination equipment.

  • Can I have my follow-up with the same doctor?

Yes. Whenever possible, regular check-ups are carried out by the same professional, so that they know your history and how you are progressing.

  • What if I need a more thorough test?

The doctor refers you for an ECG, echocardiogram or other tests, with a report covering what was assessed at home.

Time to check your blood pressure or treatment?

Request a visit and we will carry it out at your home, at the time that suits you best within our opening hours.

Is it a life-threatening emergency?

We do not handle life-threatening emergencies. For chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, signs of a stroke or heavy bleeding, call 112.
